KEELLAYING OF THREE ASD 2810 HYBRID FOR THE DUTCH NAVY
On the 26th February 2015, the keels were laid for yard numbers 512357-58-59, three hybrid tugs of the ASD 2810 type, built for the Royal Dutch Navy, at Damen Shipyards Galatz. This was done in a very traditional way by welding a coin of one EURO, with the portrait of His Majesty King Willem Alexander in the keel structure of each tug.
The female welder of Damen Shipyards Galatz was assisted by Ms Kitty Looijer (Project Manager Tugs).
This ceremony was performed in one of the building sheds, Section S1A, of the yard and witnessed by the representatives of the Owner, Mr Erik Willemsen (Commander), Mr Sander Stroet (Boatwain) and Mr Willem Burger (Program Manager DMO).
After the ceremony, a lunch was served at the head office of the yard and a memory was handed over to the Owners representatives.
